SteelSeries Apex Pro
SteelSeries USB Apex 5 Hybrid Mechanical Gaming Keyboard – Per-Key RGB Illumination – Aircraft Grade Aluminum Alloy Frame – OLED Smart Display (Hybrid Blue Switch)
The Apex Pro is SteelSeries’ first mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX switches. The company’s previous keyboards used their own mechanical switches, which don’t click as loud or have as much travel distance. But, it took a long time for them to come out with one that was actually available to purchase. So far, reviews of it are mostly positive—and not just because you can get it in Cherry MX Blue, Brown, and Red flavors.
The Apex Pro is one of my favorite mechanical keyboards. It’s durable, compact, stylish, and most importantly it has great tactile feedback and fast response times with its Outemu blue switches. The Apex Pro also includes on-the-fly macro recording and full N-key rollover via USB. I use a Mac and have no complaints about using it as an extended keyboard for gaming or as a standard keyboard when doing other tasks.
The Apex Pro is a great gaming keyboard, with many easy-to-use customization options and a wide range of programmable macro keys. Its brushed aluminum finish also adds some style to your desk. On top of that, its steel backplate makes it one of the most durable mechanical keyboards on the market. If you want something that’s simple yet stylish for day-to-day use, it’s hard to beat at just $120. Check out our full review here.
Ducky One 3
ROCCAT Vulcan 122 Mechanical PC Tactile Gaming Keyboard, Titan Switch, AIMO RGB Backlit Lighting Per Key, Detachable Palm/Wrist Rest, Anodized Aluminum Top Plate, Full Size, White/Silver
When it comes to mechanical keyboards, there are a lot of different brands that you can choose from. However, there is one brand that stands out amongst others as not only being innovative and creating some of today’s most sought-after keyboards but also for having stellar customer service: Ducky One 3. If you’re in need of a new keyboard for gaming or typing, Ducky One 3 should be your go-to brand.
This keyboard offers some really cool features such as Macros and onboard memory, but it also has some general practical functionality that makes it great for everyday use as well. There are six different backlighting settings to choose from so whether you like to have it off or on all day long, there is an option here to suit your style!
One of my favorite features One thing I really like about Ducky One 3 is that all of its keys are made out of PBT plastic. This means they won’t wear down over time and will last a lot longer than other keyboards on the market. This keyboard also comes with a detachable USB cable, which makes it easy to transport between different computers or take with you when you travel.
Kinesis Freestyle Edge RGB
KINESIS GAMING Freestyle Edge RGB Split Mechanical USB Keyboard (MX Brown)
The Freestyle Edge RGB is a compact, split ergonomic keyboard that’s great for productivity due to its fantastic comfort and ergonomics. The only real downside of buying a Kinesis Freestyle is cost. At $250, it costs more than many other boards on the market but it’s also extremely durable and versatile thanks to its adjustable frame design. For some people, it may be well worth it, though.
The Freestyle Edge is well-suited for use at work, at home, or on gaming and entertainment systems. Its compact size makes it a great travel keyboard when paired with a portable mechanical keyboard carrying case like our Top Pick, VAVA’s Aluminum Alloy Protective Case. If you don’t mind spending $250 to get a high-quality split ergonomic keyboard that can last you for years and years then take a look at Kinesis’ Freestyle Edge RGB.
It may be worth every penny! At $90, it’s a bit more affordable than Kinesis’ Freestyle Edge RGB and is designed with ergonomics in mind, which can help prevent hand strain over time. There are also a few different Cherry MX switches to choose from, with tactile brown being my personal favorite.
Obinslab Anne Pro 2
No products found.
The Obinslab Anne Pro 2 is a more affordable mechanical keyboard than other options, but it still has all of what makes mechanical keyboards so appealing. Unlike many popular keyboards like the Corsair K70 and Logitech G710+, which are available in lots of different varieties (all with different switches), you can only buy one version of The Anne Pro 2:
It has Cherry MX Brown switches and RGB backlighting, which makes it a solid option for anyone who’s looking for something simpler to work with. If you want multiple switch types or a variety of backlight colors, there are better options out there. But if you just want a simple mechanical keyboard that works well without breaking your budget, The Anne Pro 2 is an excellent choice.
Though The Anne Pro 2 is less expensive than other mechanical keyboards, it has all of what makes a great one. Typing is comfortable, thanks to its low-profile design and tactile key switches. You also get some extra features like RGB backlighting and NKRO (n-key rollover), which lets you press up to 6 keys at once without having them interfere with each other or your typing.
Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro
Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro Mechanical Wireless Gaming Keyboard: Yellow Mechanical Switches - Linear & Silent - Chroma RGB Lighting - Doubleshot ABS Keycaps - Transparent Switch Housing - Bluetooth/2.4GHz
The Razer BlackWidow is a fantastic keyboard, with three different Cherry MX switch options to choose from. It’s one of my favorites as well, though I have slight preference for linear switches over tactile ones. Regardless, it’s an excellent choice and well worth checking out if you’re in need of a mechanical keyboard.
The BlackWidow has everything you’d expect from a gaming keyboard: a full programmable interface, 5 additional macro keys, anti-ghosting protection, etc. It also comes with two USB ports and an audio port to easily connect your mouse and headset to your computer. As far as I know, it’s also compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems.
The BlackWidow comes in three different versions, which are each available with either blue, brown, or red switches. As I mentioned above, Razer offers blue (tactile), brown (tactile), and red (linear) switches. For a more detailed breakdown of what that means exactly, click here.

As gaming becomes more popular, so does high-performance PC gaming. Luckily, products like mechanical keyboards have emerged to meet that demand. There are many different mechanical keyboards on today’s market and I can say for certain that there is one for everyone. My personal favorite is EVGA’s Z15 with Cherry MX Blue Switches and no sound dampening – it provides a great balance of tactile feel and audio feedback when typing, making it perfect for anyone who uses their keyboard often!
If you’re a gamer, then you likely already know about mechanical keyboards. However, for those who don’t – there are several different types of mechanical switches available, each with its own feel and function. If you like what EVGA has to offer but want a keyboard with different switches, check out G.Skill’s KM780R RGB keyboard which comes in multiple switch varieties!
Don’t worry if you can’t decide between different switches – you can always purchase a mechanical keyboard with more than one type of switch. The Mad Catz S.T.R.I.K.E DT is a great example of that, and it even comes with customization software that allows you to configure how each individual key is controlled!
Though you might have an idea of what you want in a mechanical keyboard, it can be difficult to understand exactly what you need. The switches are often touted as being better or worse, but they’re best thought of as tools that can help get your point across. This guide will hopefully serve as a useful starting point to finding your perfect mechanical keyboard.
It’s clear mechanical keyboards have value, but they can be difficult to understand. Don’t worry—you don’t need to become an expert, but do understand how different switches are better for different tasks. For instance, clicky switches are best suited for typing, while tactile ones excel at gaming. With that in mind, you can find a keyboard that makes your life easier and more comfortable!
